Welcome to The Sunrise Foundation website

The Sunrise Foundation is a non profit organisation created to develop and deliver purpose built preventative education programs addressing depression for young people aged between 12-24 years.

Our vision is to change lives and save lives by engaging, educating and empowering young people on the subject of depression.

We are an education provider. We do not advise medically nor do we treat or counsel people who might be experiencing difficulties. We encourage you to make contact with the service providers listed under our seeking help section.

The Need

There is a genuine need to educate more young people about depression.

Independent research has discovered:

  1. Depression is present in 88% of suicides
  2. 75% of Mental Health problems occur before the age of 25
  3. 75% of young people with a Mental Health issues do not receive professional help
  4. 25% of young people aged between 15-24 years will experience a Mental Health Disorder in any 12 month period
